“I've had to replace two water heaters for different properties this year and each time they have been great to work with. Detailed attention to keeping the home clean during removal/installation has been great, especially during the challenges of 2020. Highly recommended.”

    Betolise

“They were masked, clean, quick, and friendly, fixed my toilet in no time. I will definitely call them again for my plumbing needs.”

    Kim Cannon

“These guys came out in a rush for me while I was at work and summer started to ramp up. They were cheaper than other companies I called and they could do the same day too.”

    Paul Romella

“I have been gone from Johnson County since 1990, so it has been at least three decades since working with Bea Day Plumbers. To this day they remain the gold standard of plumbers in my experience. Many times over the years, as some plumber has vexed me unmercifully, I have muttered under my breath, "Where's my Jane?!" This week the crew I refer to as the "Terrorist Brothers" really did me dirty. So much so that I did more than wonder whatever happened to my favorite plumbers, I actually googled them to find out! I'm not at all surprised to find them being well and prospering. BEA DAY ROCKS!”

    Iver Iverson

“Professional, quick, very good quality work. The people are super nice and I don't think there's a better plumber in the area. I had them install a water heater and they came in under estimate and much faster than they thought they would. My situation was difficult but they handled it all very well.”

    FAQs

    FAQs

Why should I hire a licensed plumber?

Plumbers must demonstrate their competence as installers of plumbing systems to an official executing board prior to being issued a license. A technically perfect plumbing code is valueless if its provisions are not observed and enforced. The issuance of a license by a community specifies that the holder is qualified both theoretically and practically and that their technical knowledge is sufficient to maintain the standards of the code.

Many states require that, like a doctor, nurse, dentist, or pharmacist, anyone whose work affects public health and safety shall have adequate knowledge and training. No one wants a “quack doctor” to treat his family or a “soda clerk” to fill his prescriptions. For precisely the same reasons, one does not want a “handyman” to do work in his home, office, or factory which can adversely affect the health of his family, his employees, or his neighbors.

I want a kitchen and/or bathroom remodel. How do I start?

The best way to start is by knowing these two things: 1) What do you want to accomplish by doing the remodel, and 2) The style and color scheme you want. The internet has an enormous amount of information and pictures. Magazines are a great way to cut and save clippings. Start a small notebook or folder to keep your ideas in. Get help from family and friends or even hire an interior decorator to help you with these decisions. Once you are comfortable with these decisions, we can help you with the layout and the unknowns.

Is there a good time to remodel?

Remodeling is a personal choice, and perhaps determined when you feel your environment is “tired” and in need of updating. The best time to remodel is when you are ready. Think about the changes you want to make, what do you like or dislike and you are on your way to make your vision into a reality.

How long will my remodeling project take?

During our free consultation with you, we will discuss the duration of your project. The key element in completing your project on time is for you to be available during the process so you can select your products. In addition, we will need full access to your home during the remodel during regular work hours (Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM). We will not begin work on your home until all the materials have been received. Our company policy is to stay on your project until completion once we have started construction.

How much will my construction and remodeling project cost?

Projects vary widely depending on your needs and budget. Our representatives visit with you to better understand your home remodeling needs. At Bea Day Plumbers we do more than give you a quote. We provide you with the information you need to make the right decisions for your home.

Our representatives take time to explain the details regarding your project. We answer all of your questions and explain our estimates for your home improvement project.
There is no obligation. Give us some time to review your wish list and we will give you valuable information. We believe that an educated consumer is our best customer!

    Do you use subcontractors?

We employ both subcontractors and hourly employees who are on our payroll. The subcontractors we work with have all worked with us for several years. They are all licensed and insured, as well as covered under our license and insurance.

Will there be a big mess during our project?

Construction is messy. It is dirty and dusty. Before it is beautiful, it is a construction zone. However, we respect your property by laying down clean tarps as needed and cleaning the workspace and traffic areas daily.

How do you handle communication with us during our project?

When we visit you for the measurements after the job is awarded, we will give you a schedule we can be held accountable for. Our project manager will communicate the status of your job regularly. Our goal is to answer your questions before you have to ask them.

I’ve worked with unpleasant contractors in the past, what are your workers like?

Long-faced and ill-tempered workers are not allowed on our jobs. You will find everyone who comes into your home to be skilled, friendly, and helpful in answering any of your questions.

Do I need to move out of my house during the remodeling?

Not necessarily, although renovations can get messy and noisy. Many of our clients choose to live in their home during remodeling, especially if your project is a specific area of your home like kitchens, bathrooms, or basements where the mess can be segmented away from your living space. Our clients find that our team of professional tradesmen are very courteous, but keep in mind that if your project is extensive, it may become more practical for you to temporarily move out. Let’s discuss your specific situation prior to scheduling your project and go from there.

Why does it cost so much?

At the very peak of the mountain, plumbing and remodeling can appear to be very simple. However, there’s a lot of liability when you’re dealing with things like water. It’s easy for something to be done wrong if the person doesn’t know what they’re doing or if they don’t take the time to do the work correctly. All of a sudden, everything blows apart and causes a huge (and expensive) mess. Hire a professional if you want the job done right. A professional does cost more than an amateur.

How long will a water heater last?

The duration is variable, depending on many different factors. For example, water quality and how much the system is used will make a difference in how long it lasts. We typically say that a water heater installed today will last around 8-12 years. That’s very different from a water heater that was installed 25 years ago. Things just don’t last as long as they used to.

What are some of the biggest benefits tankless water heaters offer over conventional heaters?

One benefit of tankless water heaters is unlike conventional water heaters, they never run out of hot water. While storage tank water heaters have a limited capacity (usually between 40 – 60 gallons), tankless water heaters heat water as it passes through the system, meaning you’ll never run out of hot water – especially important when the whole family is in town!
Another benefit is that since there’s no stored water, there’s no risk of an untimely leak (flooding from water heaters is one of the most common homeowner insurance claims!). And, since you’re only heating the water you’re using, you’ll see major reductions in your energy bills.

I’ve heard tankless water heaters are unreliable. Is this true?

When first introduced decades ago, tankless water heaters broke down somewhat frequently. These days, thanks to numerous technological advancements, tankless water heaters can last up to 20 years or more – longer than conventional storage-tank water heaters!

How can I tell if I need a water heater replacement?

A well-maintained gas water heater should last you about 8-12 years. An electric water heater will last longer, around 10-15 years. A tankless water heater will last you even longer than that! That said, you should think about having your water heater replaced if you notice any of the following signs:

    • Rust-colored water
    • Lack of hot water
    • Moisture or flooding around the base of your water heater

If you are on a well, the hard water can limit your water heater’s lifespan. Water softening or installing a water conditioner will help extend the life of your water heater.
